Off the couch

My butt is finally off the couch and working out. I started my morning walks this past Monday and to show you how serious I am about the weight loss I even went at 6am on both Monday and Tuesday. The dogs nor Robert were impressed with having to get their butts out of bed that early. For me, I get up anywhere in between 5am and 7am depending on what time the little guys get up so not a problem.

Today I didn't go for the walk but I did work out. My feet, especially the heels were sore this morning and since I had foot problems a few years back I didn't want to chance another injury. I've also cut out the coke(4 days), that's a huge step, I'm a 2 a day coke kinda gal and not diet either. Can't weight to see the pounds drop :-).

Here's the pics of my new room. The dark purple is juneberry and the light(almost white) is drowsy lavender both colors I used in my bedroom, walls are the juneberry and the drowsy lavender for the ceiling. It sure did make a difference in this room and it gives of great vibes. The Batman, Patrick Bateman from American Psycho and Angel dolls, I mean figures on the wall are mine. Faith from Buffy is Rob's.

Now onto knitting content. I just realized it is May 31 and the Knitting World Cup starts June 9th. I was in a panic earlier because I thought it started tomorrow and I hadn't even gotten my act together and got everything organized. I'll be knitting 2 pair of socks, one for my SP8 pal and the other is an undercover project I'm working on. Who knows, maybe I'll even fit in a couple of UFO's if I push myself. I have been such a slacker, lucky I haven't bought any yarn for myself since the beginning of March. Hmmm that could be why I'm slacking on the knitting, don't want to dip into the stash, Must save the stash!!! I think I hear a shopping trip calling my name. Lucky me, my Aunt Margaret is throwing my a life preserver and has sent a huge(don't know how huge yet)box of sock yarn. She says I'm going to love it, cross your fingers and hope for no fluorescent stuff.

Well back to my knitting.

FO and catch up

I have an FO, well had for a while but haven't posted the pics up yet. Here they are, my first pair of knitted Socks that Rock socks in the Xmas colorway.

These are so my favorite socks, both to knit and to wear. I really do love the tight twist like you get with Lorna's Laces sock yarn. The colors are awesome, wasn't to sure when I was winding the skein into a ball. I love the pooling and just the way it worked up, yes I'm one of those people who don't care about the pooling or matching of the socks. If you buy handpainted well, the yarn does have a mind of its own and why buck it, that what I say. Thank you so much Chrissy for sending me this gorgeous sock yarn and being a great SP7.

Now onto the catch up part, didn't do much on our long weekend. Rob worked as per usual so the boys and I just hung out at home and had the sprinkler running almost all weekend and most of this week. I did get some Diablo time in on the weekend after the boys were in bed. For those not in the know, Diablo is an online role playing game. Yes, I'm a geek. Blame it on hubby, he's the one who got me into the first person shooter and role playing games 10 years ago. Now I play the odd game when the mood hits, up until 3 weeks back I got into full force gamer girl mode and have been slacking on the knitting/spinning department(must try to budget time better, any suggestions/schedules would be greatly appreciated). But I am spending quality time with the hubby and his friends, yes his friends. I'm the only wife/girlfriend out of their group who will play computer games/warhammer etc with the boys. That could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who's looking at it. Hubby's happy, and I'm happy so what the hell.

Today it is actually cooling off and we're supposed to get some rain today and most of the weekend. Maybe I can get some knitting done, we'll see. I did get a little spinning in yesterday, here's a peek of what I was doing.

I also noticed I haven't posted any pics of my new room or my little guys lately, so here they are:

Well, blogger does not want to see pictures of my new room, so will try that one later.

Heeelllloooo There!

Hey all, long time no post. Bad blogger, with all the hot weather I can't keep my little guys indoors long enough to get some computer work done. I've got my flowers planted in front and in some pots around the yard. I also got some trimming done on the tree out front as well. After that was all said and done I nursed my huge blister on the palm of my right hand(main knitting hand to boot).

On the knitting front not much happening. I've come to a point were I am having second sock syndrome and have decided not to start anymore projects till those darned socks are done. I've got two secret projects on the go and one may be for my secret pal. Yes it is only a week in but what the heck, start planning and get this baby going.

Well it is the season finale of ER tonight, yes, I'm a tv junkie but do try to knit during commercials. Maybe finish a sock tonight who knows.

Hey, if you are out checking blogs, stop by Michelle's blog and say hi. She could use some support right now. Thanks.

Here's a couple pics of my dogs, Xena, the big red girl and Barky, the black and tan. Tried to take pics of the boys in the sprinkler but that didn't work out, got sprayed twice. Have a good one all.

New Month and no more Funk

I'm back after a 2 weeks of getting my act together and making sense of everything.

With Jordan I've just decided he will be what he'll be and that is his choice to make. I can try to reason with him till I'm blue in the face and it won't change things so it is done, no more trying to change things there.

To mark this change I've taken his old room and turned it into a computer/office/tv room. I pulled everything out and I mean everything, right down to the big stand alone closet. Washed the walls and carpet and painted it Juneberry(a medium purple, not like Barney, lol, from Behr paints, same as my bedroom) on 1 wall and the bottom half of 2 walls, the top and other wall are painted Drowsy Lavender(a white with a hint of Lavender, color of my bedroom ceiling). It looks awesome and makes me very happy everytime I enter the room plus purples are supposed to enhance creativity so yes I have started knitting in here. The room is not completely finished, still moving stuff in but as a treat and a pick me upper from hubby, I got a new l-shaped desk I've been eyeballing from Staples(plus it was on sale-50 buck off). The old closet I'm using for craft/yarn storage, still lots of room left so I'll have to start enhancing the stash once again ;-).

Besides the painting and reorganizing of the new room I've also been doing cleaning and trying to pair down and some of our crap. I managed to take a bunch of stuff to the local women's shelter and I have some yarn(wool and acrylic)to take to the hospital again, not as much as last time but every little bit helps.

Also in life changing news I've been trying to decide what to do with myself. I'm down one child and our Justice will be going to Kindergarten in September and it'll be just Collin and myself for 4-1/2 days a week. Do I savour the peace and quiet with only 1 child or do I seek something else to do with the extra time I'll have. I've picked the later and no I'm not having anymore kids(I'm fixed)! I was contemplating getting another dog but hubby's not really for that idea. I've always wanted a little Bichon/Shitzu, we'll see. Back on topic again, I've decided to create my own little business. I haven't done anything like that since we left Edmonton and I had my own little Cake Decorating business from home which was just started to fly when we moved, drats. I'm just working a few things out and will post more details as they surface, till then keep an eye out.

SP8 is upon us and the hostesses are now in the process of making matches, keep an eye on your emails if you're participating.

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words, they really helped me deal with everything going on. I'm back and ready to push forward, things can only get better, right.

Happy Knitting!!
